My Students

I have a great group of kindergarten students this year! Most of them I had last year in my transitional kindergarten class and I looped with them. I become very attached to them by the end of the second year!

These energetic students are the children of our active duty military Navy and Marines.

They face long separations from their father and/or mother. My students include a variety of ethnic backgrounds, English language learners and children with special needs. The majority of them receive free or reduced lunch.

My Project

My students need headphones when they are on their tablets so they can hear the program better that they are working on. Using headphones also helps them focus and reduces the noise level in the classroom. Kindergarten students are rarely quiet!

My students used their computers often throughout the day and headphones will benefit their learning.

We use the programs: Smarty Ants, Raz-Kids, and ST-Math. These programs help the students with phonics, reading comprehension and math skills.

In this day and age, computer skills are a necessary skill to have in order to be successful in school and in life.
