My Project

My kindergarten students are eager to learn and engaged in their classrooms. I find that hands-on experiences help them to make connections and gain a better understanding of the curriculum. We are starting a garden with the objective of learning more about plants and how they grow, and how they can feed a community. For this project, we need gardening tools, seed starter pots, planters as well as watering systems. This garden will allow students to gain knowledge that can be used to begin home gardens with their families and will also serve as an introduction to gardening school-wide. We will provide a seating area for students, teachers, and parents to sit and observe and make predictions about plants. We hope to create meaningful experiences for our students here at CES.
