This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology in our classrooms is a must in the twenty first century. We have been fortunate enough to receive a projector, but do not have a safe place to keep it. The cords are constantly in the way and I worry that we will break this great addition to our classroom.

I teach kindergarten, where twenty two five and six year-olds meet daily to learn.

They come to school ready to work hard and get smart. They are excited for the new information they can discover about the world around them. Our school pushes for all students to go to college and to start thinking about college early, even in kindergarten!

My Project

We have been fortunate enough to receive some technology items for our classroom. Now, we need to keep them safe! With our new projector we have been able to watch short educational clips, sing songs to learn, and explore websites. With our document camera we have been able to do shared reading, guided practice, and student led solutions. But without a way to safely store this technology, all of these great new instructional practices will be lost. Cords are easily in the way and can be a tripping hazard. It also wastes instructional time for me to stop and hook everything up on a daily basis. Every minute counts and should be used effectively. Having our classroom technology stored in a safe place and ready to use would provide countless educational resources that are ready at our fingertips!

This cart will preserve our technological resources so that the students in my class have access to these learning tools now, but countless future students can as well.

All of our children need to be familiar with technology to be successful outside of the classroom. Help us take advantage and protect the resources we have been given.
