Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We started this OWL NEST this school year. It has been very good but we need help to continue it. We are trying to show our students that if they work hard in school academically and show respect to their teachers that they can be rewarded for their efforts. Our school is a Title 1 school, so most of the parents work 2 or some 3 jobs to just provide food and clothes for their child. This OWL NEST project is a way to show our students know that we care about what makes them happy and we care about providing them these little incentives. When they go to visit the OWL NEST, their little faces light up with just a simple little toy that some will play at home with for I am sure many hours. We are trying to make a difference just one day at a time.
