My Project
My students are growing up in a world where it seems to be harder to find examples of what it means to be kind. I am creating a place in the classroom that they will be able to go to work out issues with others, calm down from a difficult situation, or help each other to get through a tough time. My students already show a little bit of kindness to each other. So, this area will create a calming, relaxing environment. There will be lights to look at, items to fidget with, and weighted stuffed animals. These items will give the students talking points to learn how to talk out their issues when in an argument. If my students can have a place to calm down then they will hopefully be in better moods to "deal" with the differences they have with others.
