This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year, I’m giving my classroom a full makeover to better support my students' needs. Many of my students last year had ADHD characteristics noted in their IEPs, and bright, overstimulating decor often made it hard for them to focus. With guidance from our special education teacher, I’m creating a calm, boho-inspired space with softer tones to help every child feel safe, focused, and at ease. I still want it to feel like a classroom just more peaceful. I’m also promoting college readiness early with my 4th and 5th graders!
