Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting a slab roller in my classroom to make ceramic activities more efficient.
My goal is to have my students create Kimmy Cantrell inspired ceramic masks to honor Black History Month.
They will learn ceramic techniques requiring them to roll slabs, to score slip slabs together and use patterns in their design. They will be inspired by looking at the patterns and lines Cantrell uses in his designs to find their own expressions.
My students are special because they appreciate, are open to looking, and experiencing art from other cultures
