My students need an iPad to help them learn. We have a terrific group of lower income special needs students with autism who don't have access to iPads.
Help us learn! Students with autism need tools to stimulate their fine and gross motor skills while building their academic skills. They are amazed by technology and naturally gravitate toward any type of activities that are computer-based. They learn and don't even realize they're doing work!
Our students with autism come from low-income families in high poverty areas.
Our class is a typical melting pot of New York kids but these students are very special. Some can not speak but their eyes are bright, smiles are big and they love coming to school and learning new things. It is amazing all of the great technology that is available to help even young students with reading and math skills. Unfortunately, many of my students do not have access to a computer much less an iPad. The use of an iPad will allow learning to be more interactive and fun.
My Project
I am requesting an iPad to help reinforce reading and math skills. The iPad applications will help with letter and sound recognition, counting skills, addition, subtraction, letter/number writing, and much more.
The use of technology in an early childhood classroom is very important. The iPad will also help my students learn how to use advanced technology. An iPad would enhance my students' love for learning and thirst for knowledge. Many of my students do not have any computers, and certainly not an iPad, in their homes. Having access to one at school is essential.
An iPad will provide a much richer learning environment and aid many more students with autism for years to come.
We really need an iPad to provide advanced technology and engage my special needs kids. Please support my project and help my young learners practice their basic skills with a touch of their finger!
