My Students

I have a classroom of fourth graders who love to learn.

My students love to dive into a good book. I have students who love to read and discuss novels during practice stations. The books have lead to great discussions about life and real-world experiences.

My students are at the age where they want to be kind, but sometimes lack the skills. The picture books will teach us to be kind to others and have empathy towards friends new and old.

My Project

These books will continue to enhance reading and peer discussions. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. I have watched them the past few weeks of school read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy reading.

With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read and discuss the story with their peers.

They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown amazing growth by increasing their reading time. We have incorporated dyad reading, book projects, and book groups which have increased their fluency and comprehension.
