This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with a bunch of wonderful passionate students at a Title 1 school. However, due to the lack of in person learning during the pandemic my students lost 2 years of being able to play with each other. I believe this has impacted the development of their social emotional skills. Specifically, I believe that they might not have had the opportunity, as much as they would have otherwise, to learn how to play with each other; show good sportsmanship; and negotiate small conflicts. The sports equipment that I am requesting will help me facilitate a variety of age appropriate activities that will help my students develop these skills. In addition, it will help my students have a sufficient brain break so that they are able to go back to class ready to learn. I am requesting a wagon and a pump so that I can always have this equipment stored and ready to use.
