My Students
Each day my kids come with an eagerness and ambition unparalleled throughout Navajo reservation. My students are great. They love to sing, dance and learn instruments. Most students come to my class wanting the chance to learn something new. They come knowing a music career isn't out of reach. Their intellect and perseverance amaze me every day. Students here TES want to continue thriving in innovative ways which include music and music's potential to fill their need for change. Thank You!
My Project
So far, the students have learned a few songs on a few instruments. Boomwhackers, recorders, keyboards, but we don't have string instrument or flutes, violins or guitars. With that said, I'm looking for your help in expanding our students' knowledge of worldly instruments. With violins, kids can learn the beauty of the string section. With flutes, kids can enjoy an incredible instrument played by many kids in many schools. Kids with knowledge in these instruments can teach other young kids to stay out of trouble and open new doors to different successful endeavors like the orchestra. Not only that but they can be introduced to jazz, folk and other worldly music.
