Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 30 amazing 5th graders who come from different backgrounds, ethnicities, and levels of learning. My goal is to have the students come together as one group. Through reading, exploration, and classroom discussion the students will be able to see they can come together and make a difference.
My class will be exploring, imagining, and creating all year long.
The students will work hard all year to create an unforgettable year. Each student is capable and deserving of a top level education.
My Project
Today's fast pace and ever changing world is filled with a multitude of facts and opinions. My students need to be able to read, deceiver, and form opinions about the world around them. This project gives my class the opportunity to see a form of media that many of them have had little experience with. My students are consumed with the high tech, high speed information. I want to teach the students to slow down and process the information from a text.
My students are one day going to change the world, and they need to be prepared and informed on how to make it a better place.
Times for Kids allows me to introduce my students to new ideas and solutions that they would otherwise never be exposed to. My students will be able to see other countries, and more importantly put themselves in others shoes. I want my kids to be more than just informed citizens of Arizona, I want them to be informed citizens of the world.
