My Project
It's true - 4th graders love food! But what if there was a way that 4th graders could actually cook, bake and decorate their own food here at school? There is! I want my inner city students to have fun with cooking and baking! Imagine learning math while mixing up a delicious cake for the class! Cooking and baking are creative ways for students to learn more about food and use their math skills! Imagine 4th graders carefully measuring ingredients, carefully mixing, and then baking a shareable bread that fills the school with its warm aroma? This project aims to make that happen! I want students to have cookbooks in our classroom for in-school food science classes. With access to a school kitchen, these amazing 4th graders will use measurement and math with delicious results! We can have our own end-of-year "Bake off" class competitions where students in groups make their own creative creations with classmates and share it with the school!
