This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our class is run like a family unit. We learn beyond the books and delve into character, morals, values, compassion, citizenship, sense-of-humor, and empathy.
We try our best to keep our classroom positive, inviting, and creative where kids feel welcomed, safe, respected, and eager to learn.
Many students come from low income/high poverty where there isn't always much support at home due to two working parents or language barriers. During the school day, for many students, is the only time they get a chance to read and be engaged in active learning.
My Project
Help keep us organized with good study skills! Every morning we work in our binders. This is where we keep our daily morning work, daily journal prompts, any unfinished work they need to complete, our daily fluency papers, as well as any tools to help with their learning. These mini-lessons teach the students the necessary skills every day of their education.
This is an integral part of their routines and teaching them study skills and responsibility of keeping organized.
Spelling List, Math Skills, Sound/Spelling Cards, Character Traits List...
All the items our students need to help them be successful in school is in their binders.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
