Kids are Curious! The Joy of Learning Through Creativity

Help me give my students a camera and a web camera to explore and document their curiosities through the use of video conferencing with subject matter experts.

My Students

All children start their school careers with sparkling imaginations, fertile minds, and a willingness to take risks with what they think. Let's give these students a program that allows them to think outside of the traditional classroom.

My second grade students are ages 8-10 years-old and like most kids, they love learning through doing.

We are a Charter School in the heart of El Cajon California and the need for more project-based and STEAM teaching materials for our students to learn how to critically think and solve problems is a big part of what we are trying to develop for our students.

My Project

Second grade students are naturally curious about the world around them. It is my job to help foster and encourage this excitement and exploration. Finding creative ways to teach our content that helps it come alive and gives all my students a better understanding on how life works. My classroom is a place for my students to learn through hands-on experimentation and experiences. As a result, my students come alive when presented a challenges their thinking.

The use of a digital camera will grant my students the ability to document their STEAM projects, allowing them to make improvements in design.

This project will also inspire my students as they will be given the ability to access remote experts, with web-camera technology, in the fields we are exploring, such as engineers, and authors without additional costs that a field-trip would require.
