My Project
Our students are the future of our world! Think about that for a second and let it sink in. Unfortunately, we've had statewide budget cuts as programs, resources and professionals were all cut. The academic education and social-emotional learning have been disrupted and our students have been greatly affected.
Fortunately, we have the power to change and help our kids in this whole new world to become successful, creative, and knowledgeable individuals to reach their full potential.
As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district, I work with students who are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. We are an ICT (integrated co-teaching class). The population is a mix of students who have special needs and receive essential supportive services, and some are general ed. My students are brave, inquisitive, and actively engaged individuals who want to learn more and try new things every day.
Due to budget cuts, our students will continue to be robbed of the necessary tools in order to thrive successfully.
A kidney table would benefit our students as it will allow them to have flexible seating while working in small groups. A kidney table will allow the students to reach their full potential.
They are truly an inspiration and we have the responsibility to make sure they can grow personally and academically in this new world with the adequate support and materials.
