Kidney Table for Kids!

My students need an area for us to meet as a small group to be able to practice the necessary skills to master the standards they need to be successful students in our 4th grade class.

My Students

My students want to excel! I encourage them to give their personal best each day. When they are faced with a challenge, I encourage them not to give up and to give it their all.

I really value the one on one teaching time that I get to spend with my students.

Our schedule permits us to be able to meet in small groups that consist of 3-4 students and myself. All of my students learn in different ways. As a teacher, it is my job to be familiar with each different learning style and teach them accordingly. Small group/differentiated instruction time is one of our favorite parts of the day!

My Project

This large kidney table will benefit my students and myself in so many ways. Each day, we have a specific time slot in our busy schedule for small group instruction. Small group/differentiated instruction is a vital element in student success. I group my students according to either their learning style or academic level, and I meet with them as a small group to work closer together. I am able to give specific feedback and the students feel more comfortable asking questions when they do not understand something.

Each group consists of 3-4 students.

While we are working on a certain skill, the other students are working in our classroom centers. As of right now, our small group meets in student desks that we have to push together to form a group. It is not very comfortable for the students nor myself. We really need a designated quiet spot in our classroom with one nice big table for us to meet at and learn!
