My Students

More than half of my students come from low-income households, and more than half are high needs students. I am working with a diverse and hardworking group of students from grades 2 through 4 who face a number of academic challenges.

In order for my students to perform in the classroom, they must be engaged and empowered.

Many of my students have attention difficulties or learning disabilities that require a room filled with patience, positivity, and flexibility. To access the curriculum, my students need multiple approaches to the skills and strategies that they are taught. Finding and implementing the unique ways that my students learn best by implementing technology is one of my goals as a first-year teacher.

My Project

A kidney-shaped table promotes a positive learning experience. Currently, my students use a rectangular table during small group instruction. This makes it difficult to meet the needs of all students. Having a kidney-shaped table will help me meet the individual needs of my students across all academic areas.

A kidney-shaped table will allow my students to make accomplishments in STEM and ELA.

Having a kidney-shaped table will encourage group work and allow me to monitor students. This type of seating encourages collaboration and teamwork. It will also allow me to check in one-on-one with students. Adding a kidney-shaped table to to my classroom will increase student engagement across instructional activities.
