it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach Kindergarten students at a title 1 school in the Bronx. This year, I will be in an Integrated Co-teaching classroom that specially designed instructions to meet students’ individual needs. These students come from a diverse range of backgrounds and nationalities. Many of them are new to school. My class is filled of excited and curious young learners. Kindergarten is a wonderful time of exploration and activities.
My goal is to create an environment that is more conducive to engagement and learning.
My Project
A kidney shape table is a necessity in my class since there is a lot of grouping like guided reading, reading-math interventions, vocabulary games, centers, projects and so on. Small group instructions can be difficult in kindergarten, as students get distracted so easily. However the kidney table is well suited for small groups, as students and I will sit close to each other while instructing fostering collaboration. This Kidney Activity table will make learning easier through powerful small group interactions.
This versatile table will allow me to have easy access to small groups.
I can use this table for re-teaching; enrich lessons, brief assessments, individual conferences and one to one instructions. Besides, It can also be used for students to work at their own pace. It is very hard to accomplish all of these without the proper materials. Every classroom should have at least one kidney table to stimulate social learning, creativity and cooperation among students. Your donation can make this possible for us.
This kidney table will be a great addition to my classroom and I’m sure my students will love it. I already love that this table cleans up very easily allowing smooth transition from one activity to another. Learning time is maximizing! I’m just imagining my students’ excitement and their willingness to join small groups activities with this kidney table. This table will do the trick!
