This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my classroom are part of an inner city community where school resources are limited. My students are kindergartners, most are experiencing school for the very first time. It is my job to start my students with a positive learning experience. An experience that will, no doubt, influence their perception of school and learning.

My kindergartners need opportunities to learn in their own individual ways and develop a life-long love of learning.

I want to give my students the foundation they need to be successful for the rest of their educational career.

Our school is in a low socioeconomic area and many students come from homes with very limited resources, Despite this, my students come to school excited, full of curiosity and ready to learn.

My Project

We have recently become a one to one technology school which means my kindergartners will each have access to an iPad throughout each school day. I have many ideas for how to integrate this technology to help my students' learning. In order to get the most out of this technology, I am requesting headphones, ipad keyboards, iPad stands and Osmo Genius Educational Kit Games. I am also requesting bean bags, a giant bear and a classroom radio to support literacy and enhance my students' ability to focus simultaneously.

By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement, and as a result, develop their love of learning.

The Osmo Genius Kits come with two math games, a phonics game and A Coding Game. The earlier my students receive STEM experiences, the better prepared they will be to create and become prepared for the careers of the future. For this reason, I have also included microscope kits to support our STEM learning.
