My Students
My students at PS 294 are a sprawling, diverse crew that live in the Bronx. Art is and should be for everyone. As the new Visual Art teacher at this K-5 elementary school, I believe it is especially critical for children to be exposed to the arts to build visual literacy.
Most of my students have never had access to the arts before, and they will be relying on our art classroom for the chance to visually express themselves!
I am so excited at the opportunity to invite young minds at PS 294 to engage in a world of creativity and innovation!
My Project
Thank you so much for helping K-5 students at P.S. 294 (The Walton Avenue School) kick-start their very first year in art class! Many students have not had much experience in art class yet, and we are very excited to get down and dirty with hands-on experiences.
All of the items requested are basic materials needed in the art classroom to help organize materials and create projects!
The storage cart will provide easy access to materials for daily use, the paper trimmer will help cut paper into different sizes, and basic materials like paper and watercolors will engage students in adding color to their paintings.
