Help me give my students basic supplies to get the school year started as well as fun incentives, celebrations and encouragement to help them feel welcomed and motivated throughout the school year.

My Project

This project includes basic items to get this school year started off right, such as pencils, glue sticks and scissors. And trays to keep table groups organized.

The food grade bugs are for a sociological experiment on taboos.

This lesson addresses the American Sociological Association High School Standards Domain 2: Social Structure: Culture, Institutions, and Society: norms & taboos and Domain: 3 Social Relationships: Self, Groups, and Socialization: deviance & conformity

Students in both Sociology and AP Gov benefit from the Pixton Comic Strip Maker. AP Gov students use it to show what they know about the bill making process. This addresses the College Board topic "Interaction Among Branches of Government" and Skill Category 1: Skill Application.

I also like to plan ahead for milestones such as Halloween, winter holidays, Valentines and the AP GOV test so those items are included as well. We like to celebrate after the AP test with a sparking cider toast. And who doesn't love receiving a birthday card or fun stickers?
