Kick Back at the Kidney Table and Grow Your Knowledge
Help me give my students a Classroom Select Markerboard Activity Table to provide a comfortable space for small group instruction and collaborative activities.
I am a K-1 self contained classroom teacher in South Jamaica Queens. Working in a bridge class is an amazing opportunity. We form collaborative relationships over the two school years we are together. I get to know every student's needs and talents. My students have autism, emotional disturbances and speech and language difficulties. However, my students are brilliant artist, scientists and conversationalists.
In this classroom students are given the tools, time, and resources they need to meet and exceed their grade level expectations.
My Project
The majority of the Literacy and Math instruction in my classroom takes place in seated in small groups. Having a dry erase kidney table will increase the equity of student voice in my classroom, allowing all students seated at the table to be heard. The dry erase surface also allows for students to jot quick responses, show and or model their thinking without the need for extra materials and paper.
If this project is fully funded I know that the Classroom Select Markerboard Activity Table will be a staple in my classroom for years to come!
