My Project

My students are in grades K through 5th. I am a Physical and Health education teacher in a South Brooklyn School District. My school is located in South Brooklyn, New York, in the Coney Island area, an economically disadvantaged urban area. Nearly 100% of students qualify for complimentary breakfast, lunch, and dinner if they stay after the after-school program. The student body is a diverse population with many different cultures speaking many other languages, with games like soccer being a big part of their lives.

I'm asking you to please help me start a Soccer afterschool program.

My school greatly needs such a program as many of our students cannot go home after school. Please help me give them a place to go and learn the great game of soccer, a sport that is played all over the world. The game of soccer bridges the gap between all the different cultures and nationalities. It will also help students learn discipline, accountability, teamwork, etc. Help me give my students a place to go after school when they can't go home. Help me get them off their digital devices and move.
