My Project

My 4th and 5th grade students are learning how to read music using the treble clef, and they are eager to apply these skills in a meaningful, hands-on way. By providing electric keyboard pianos, students will be able to connect note reading directly to sound, movement, and creativity.

These keyboards will allow students to practice identifying notes on the staff, translating them to the keyboard, and performing simple melodies.

In addition, students will use the keyboards as tools for composing their own music, experimenting with pitch, rhythm, and musical patterns.

Having access to class keyboards will transform music lessons from paper-based learning into an engaging, interactive experience where students can truly hear and create what they are learning. These instruments will support differentiated instruction, small-group learning, and independent practice, helping all students grow as confident musicians. Keyboards provide an accessible, visual way for students to understand how written music connects to sound. This project will help students bridge the gap between theory and performance, making music learning more meaningful and memorable.

This project will directly impact my 4th and 5th grade students by giving them the opportunity to actively apply their treble clef note-reading skills. Instead of only identifying notes on worksheets, students will play those notes on real instruments, strengthening their understanding and retention.
