This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Our students are economically and ethnically diverse. Our population consists of mostly Hispanic and Chinese backgrounds. We have a population of students from shelters as well as the surrounding projects.
The school includes students with special needs as well as ESL students in need of extra support.
As a community, we strive to keep a safe and secure environment for all our students from Pre-k through 5th grade. Thank you!
My Project
During these unprecedented times we are looking for help in all areas in order to ensure the success of all students. Some students are home due to medical reasons and need tour help just as much if not more than our students who will be entering the building. We are asking for help to fund keyboards to attach to student iPads in order to help our students write in all areas. Writing is important in all subject areas including ELA, Math, Social Studies and Science. We are looking to help our students start their successful writing by having the correct tools.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
