This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Preparing students to learn scientific concepts has been a very rewarding experience for me. One of the reasons I hope I am an effective teacher is because I am a student! I have always been a life-long learner. I am always thinking about how I could engage my students in learning new things. What excites me in learning new things? How do I learn best? What environment allows me to learn the best? I learn the best when teachers/mentors guide me to the answers but not necessarily give me the answers to my questions. I also learn best when the lesson allows for hands-on experience such as drawing, painting, video editing, learning a new application such as FlipGrid. I often get my best ideas from creative people such as the people in the Art or Music Department. I noticed most students are fully engaged in their learning because they continue practicing their craft with it as a hands-on experience. These supplies and experiment will allow students to get the best hands-on experience in the Kennedy lab!
