Help me give my students 4 Amazon Kindles, a Mobile Listening Centers, Classroom Classics Read-Alongs, Listening Center, Multipurpose Headphones, and Leather Cases for our Kindles.
My students are curious, engaging, bright, motivated, and so much fun to work with! I love how eager they are to come to school. Many of my students face both personal and academic challenges in their daily lives, which range from a lack of home support and poverty to English Language Learners and reading difficulties. As their teacher, I take on many roles throughout the day in order to provide them with the support they need to be successful.
Many students who first enter my kindergarten classroom have had little or no experience in a school setting.
My school is in a low income area that is also very diverse, with over 70 languages spoken. There are many challenges these students face. Since this is the case, it is incredibly important that my students leave my classroom with a solid foundation in early literacy and math skills.
My Project
My students need 4 Kindle Fires to use during small group. Students will use their Kindles to listen to stories, play math and reading games. Kindles will provide an engaging and hands on learning experience for my students. These kindles will be used by many students. In order to protect the Kindles, I've asked for 3 case covers.
My students will use the listening center during small group time, kindergarten is a prime age to build a foundation for literacy skills.
One of the best ways to support our students with that skill is to have students exposed to reading. A listening center allows them to be read to daily. It is also very important for students to learn the skill of sitting, listening, and follow along which this listening center will allow.
The headphones will help my students hear stories on the Chromebooks and Kindles listening center. They will also help them hear instructions for math and reading games they are playing during small group and during our time with the Chromebooks. These headphones can also be used at our listening center.
