My Project
Middle school students are right at the brink of young adulthood. They are figuring out who they are and the right books can guide them along the way. Students of color often don't see themselves in the books they read and this needs to change. Luckily more and more diverse authors are being published and it is now up to our library to make sure we have these books readily available for our students so they can feel connected to what they are reading. Our school has a very strong reading culture and I want to help foster these and make sure this reading environment continues to grow and thrive.
