My students need a complete set of lab glassware and materials to make sure their labs will be cleaned and disposed of safely and properly.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. M.'s classroom raised $503

My Students
Our school has just had a new lab built, but many of the materials necessary for running a functional lab were not included in the project grant.
My students attend a very small public high school in Brooklyn and have not experienced a science lab before.
They are ambitious and curious and dying to explore, but they need the equipment to practice chemistry correctly and responsibly! With a full 11th grade class of 130 students, we run out of glassware after one class!
My Project
Having a reliable and extensive supply of the correct glassware they need to complete their labs, will make sure that students practice chemistry consistently and learn good laboratory habits. The set I am requesting has "breakage coverage" meaning that if glassware does get broken, it will be replaced at no cost. For a school with limited resources, this is a dream come true.
The other materials I am requesting are to make sure lab cleanup is done responsibly. I need a safe place to store chemical waste and need materials to safely cleanup chemical spills. Until I have the safety equipment, we cannot do more challenging and interesting lab work.
My project is important because my students deserve to learn real lab practice and explore with more than grocery store resources.
Having this glassware and safety equipment will open up the possibility of individual inquiry with sophisticated chemistry!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
