Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The main goal is to keep the students involved after school. When the students have something to be a part of then their school work improves. They learn about winning, losing, and being part of a team. These are all life skills that are needed when they get older.

These students want to succeed and after-school sports is one activity that gives them a goal to look forward to in high school.

All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch and live in a lower socio-economic area of the city. At the same time, they work each day building a community at the school among all grade levels.

My Project

These students will be able to use the practice basketballs and volleyballs to develop skills so they can be competitive in their games. They will learn teamwork and life-skills essential for their futures. Each day in practice, many of their balls need to be pumped up to practice. The following day, they are flat again and the process needs to be repeated.

Athletics is one after-school activity necessary to help students develop skills toward life.

It keeps them involved, helps them realize another reason why grades are important, and blesses them with exercise that so many students in this nation are lacking today.
