This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My elementary school is located in Philadelphia. The school has a very diverse student population with the majority of students being Hispanic and African American. More than 90% of the student population lives below the poverty level.
Classrooms need to be inviting.
I have a decent classroom, I have a good deal of decorations and the environment is inviting. However I have a hard time keeping the room dust and dirt free. Over the course of a week dirt accumulates as well as dust and other debris. The cleaning staff rarely makes it in to clean the room and I need something more then a broom. The Dyson Vacuum Cleaner will help me clean the room in a short amount of time and students and I will benefit from a cleaner environment. I am embarrassed that I have to ask for this item, however I want my classroom to be clean and healthier for my students.
My Project
I feel that a clean classroom is needed to ensure the proper health of myself and my students. Often times the cleaning staff is stretched thin and my classroom might not be cleaned or swept for weeks at a time. The Dyson Vacuum cleaner will ensure that I can clean the floors, ledges, and other areas to ensure my students have a clean classroom. The dust that accumulates in the room can be bad and many of my students have asthma or other respiratory issues, the vacuum cleaner would go a long way and help keep the room dust and dirt free.
