This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project is to help students in a Title I school to get the supplies that they need to have a successful school year.
Many of my students have a love for school and are strong students, but their families don't always have the money for basic school supplies, such as pencils, notebooks, and folders.
I want my students to be able to focus on their work rather than worrying about whether or not they have supplies. As they are getting older, there is a greater emphasis on taking notes and keeping themselves organized. I want to make sure that they have the supplies to learn not only math I will teach them but real-life organizational skills. We utilize dry erase markers on a daily basis to show our work and collaborate with groups to help conserve paper and reduce waste.
