Imagine moving to a new school with all new faces all new surroundings. Many of our middle school students have never experienced so much freedom. But with freedom comes responsibility.
I work in a school with a high poverty level, actually, the highest poverty level in the State of Indiana.
Many of our students are just like you, they want to learn and become successful; unfortunately, they are not responsible for the funding in our schools. The basic needs of our corporation are covered, but if we want to supplement the curriculum to enhance the learning experience for our students, we have to pursue funding through programs like Donorschoose.
My Project
We are starting a new initiative to make projects with words of encouragement to share with our classmates, teachers, and friends. Our goal is to put a stop to bullying by encouraging everyone to create positive, kind quotes and adhere them to the bathroom stall doors. We want to renovate our school’s restrooms with the intent of incorporating messages that will promote positivity, kindness, and collaboration within the student body. We started painting the stall doors but the paint did not adhere well, so adhesive vinyl works much better and lasts longer.
