My second graders this year consists of unbelievable students that have not been in school for more than a year due to COVID and learning remotely. Our classroom helps support each other and come to school full of life loving to learn everyday. They are full of wonder and question everything.
My class consists of ENL students, English not being their first language as well as general education students who help and support each other.
When the day is over, it's not really over because I always think of ways to guide and support their learning everyday.
My Project
After being remote for more than a year and all the challenges the students' face, they continue to learn and thrive. I am going back into the building with many children who have not been in school for more than a year. I want to create an environment where the children will feel safe. Therefore the individual sneeze guards with help give my students a safe learning environment. We are all excited to return to school, but the anxiety of returning is something that I would like to repair by providing my students protection.
