This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These books will help because these are all very interesting stories, about with different storylines. I myself was in reading intervention as a child. What helped me build an interest in reading was interesting storylines. But what really sparked it for me was when we read books that were turned into movies. Then we would compare the movies to books. I always found that the books gave way more details and the movies left out so much. But it was always cool to see the characters come to life. I want to give my students this same experience and hopefully spark their interest in reading books like it did for me.
The goal of our reading intervention group is to build fluency but we are also working on the main idea, supporting details, theme, character study, vocabulary.
I am requesting a set of 6 copies of each title, that way the students can each use their own copy and not have to share a book.
