My Students
Our school is in the heart of Brooklyn, NY.
It includes students from Pre-K to eighth grade, and it is a melting pot of descendants from the West Indies.
The school is in a high poverty area, and about 95% of the students in the school receive free lunch. There are 18 energetic, three and four-year-old children in my class but there are not a lot of funds to enrich these students' education because of the budget cuts and although our families give us support they can't always help out financially.
My Project
The paper towel will be used by the students and I to clean up everyday spills. Then I will use the wipes, Lysol and gloves to sanitize the tables, toys and bathroom in our classroom. Cold season has started and my constant santitizing as well. PreK student may be cute but they can be walking germ factories at times.
Keeping my classroom clean and my students healthy is very important to me.
I ask my students families for some cleaning supplies at the beginning of the year and most of the students bring them in. However they get used up so fast and I know that the parents struggled to bring them in September. This is why I need the requested supplies.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
