Keeping Players Safe Builds Teamwork!

My Students

East Mustangs football represents the best of what it means to be a student-athlete. Located in an economically disadvantaged community, our high school receives Title I funding with very few dollars available for sports.

Our students are high-achieving in the classroom, and I want them to have the same success and support on the field.

Last year, following a winless season, our football players earned six wins and they are so excited about creating success as a team on and off the field this fall.

My Project

Football has a unique power to bring people together, and player safety is the foundation. The most intricate pieces of equipment players wear are shoulder pads, which fit over the shoulders, chest & ribs and are secured with snaps & buckles. They help absorb and distribute the shock of impact. Our team’s well-worn shoulder pads are in disrepair and it has become difficult to source replacement parts, so we hope to purchase new ones that will last for years to come.

Our students need shoulder pads, football girdles & knee pads for protection.

To help protect the lower body, players wear integrated girdles that contain hip and thigh pads. Some of our players aren’t able to purchase their own girdles, so your generosity enables us to provide this equipment. All of our players need knee pads, which are specially designed to fit into football pants. The practice jerseys help players easily determine positions during practice.

Not only is it required that our protective equipment be in proper repair before we take the field, but we also want to ensure the safety of our players. Help our team be safe as we develop leaders who understand the importance of teamwork, humility and perseverance through football.
