Help me give my students consistent access to their voices! With so many students using high tech AAC devices, like apps on iPads, there is a frequent need to charge their devices.
I am a speech-language pathologist working with my district’s middle and high school. I was brought in to help start up our district’s first secondary Autism-specific classroom. We are building this program from the ground up, and want to make sure we have the best resources to support our students. Our students are minimally verbal, and will require robust AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) in order to communicate effectively.
My Project
The charging stations and cords requested here will be used by our students who use iPads and other high tech devices for speech. All too often, these devices come to school with no battery, or die due to use throughout the day. This can cause the device to be put away for the rest of the day, leaving the students without any ability to communicate. They miss out on learning opportunities and social exchanges.
These chargers will help me make sure there is no excuse for leaving my students’ voices on a shelf.
