Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have been impacted by COVID-19 in more ways than one way. Not only did students have to struggle through online school and miss out on vital learning, but many have also lost family members, homes, and security. I have many students whose mental health has suffered greatly throughout the pandemic and continue to suffer in these uncertain times. This leads to a lack of self-care, loss of love for learning, and the need for healthy coping strategies.

By providing my students with items such as hygienic supplies, healthy snacks, and engaging learning materials, I can help them be the most successful versions of themselves.

These items will help over 160 students to enjoy learning, stay healthy, and develop self-care skills. For example, journals will be used as daily check-ins with students, while organizational materials will be used to help facilitate an accessible environment. Hygiene products will be made available to any student who cannot access these items at home or if they simply have trouble taking care of themselves.

As a teacher who cares about students deeply, I would like to make these items available to my kids to make them always feel loved and welcomed in my classroom. Please consider donating to help foster a safe and comfortable learning environment!
