This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a reading intervention teacher with 38 sweet, enthusiastic students. My students are kindergartners through third graders, and they represent a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. In our classroom, we practice a growth mindset where everyone understands that they can get smarter and improve skills by practicing and never giving up.
I love that my classroom is engaging, welcoming, supportive, and fun for my students to learn and thrive.
These supplies will add excitement to our daily reading lessons. The projector will allow me to project the interactive slideshow for my small group to practice their letter sounds and blending. The printer ink refills will enable me to continue printing decodable books in color for my students. The Bubble Gum Brain book is a great book about Growth Mindset to encourage my students to keep trying. Incentives like stickers and magnet tiles will be used to reinforce their effort and progress as they reach their goals. The LCD tablets are another exciting way for them to practice their letters and words on something other than paper and pencil. These supplies added to our enriching environment are going to bring even more excitement into our classroom.
