My Students
I am an occupational therapist working in Brooklyn's East New York. My students are an enthusiastic and diverse bunch of learners attending a Title I school where all of my students qualify for free breakfast and lunch.
Since March, I have been providing occupational therapy services for my students through video conference.
While I have been doing my absolute best to provide the quality of service they deserve, it is impossible for me to deliver the same quality of therapy without all of the supplies my that they have access to in school. Even when we return to school, my students will likely each need their own supplies and be unable to share to maintain the utmost safety while still working hard to achieve their goals!
My Project
Since March, I have been providing my students with occupational therapy services remotely. However, without direct interaction and necessary supplies, my students cannot receive the same quality of therapy that they would in person. Now, as some students return to school and some remain at home, they need supplies that help them reach their goals without compromising the quality and safety of their therapy sessions!
Tools like white boards, markers, paper, crayons and pencils will help my students continue to become more independent using classroom materials.
Other supplies like Play-Doh, Kinetic sand, and Squigz help therapy be most effective by keeping it fun!
