My students need 7 portable CD players and durable headphones during our reading block for "listen to reading." I also need bins for the headphones and CD players.

My Students
I have 22 amazing 2nd graders. They are energetic, curious, and have a thirst for knowledge. I want to deepen their love for reading.
These young students have minds that can be molded into something spectacular, with the right tools.
I want to remind them that their success is unlimited. We are a "Leader in Me" school. My students are learning how to develop qualities that will teach them how to deal with conflict and resolutions, how to think win-win and how they can change the world, simply by who they are.
My Project
As a teacher, I want to instill into my students a love for books, a desire to read and a heart to explore the world through pictures and texts.
Reading opens doors and unclocks the key to imagination.
Each day during our reading block, students get to choose an activity. One of them includes listening to a book on C.D. To keep my students engaged, on task and interested in their book, I need portable CD players for them in their individual journey.
Listening to reading on CD helps students increase their reading fluency. As they follow along, they are able to recognize words they already know, and build upon previous knowledge.
As they become engaged in what they are listening to, their comprehension of the story will increase. Fluency and comprehension are essential to becoming a good reader.
