My Students
I teach at a school with a large majority of my students coming from high poverty areas, and many of them are facing several challenges in their lives. Despite their struggles, these kids come in each and every day hoping to expand their horizons.
The kids I teach are eager to learn, excited by new knowledge, and happy to be at school.
I want to show these students that no matter their beginnings or the expectations placed on them by others, they can be whatever they want to be.
My Project
I am requesting desk shields for my art room. For most of the school year, my school has been in person. Unfortunately by being in person, we have seen some cases of Covid at our school. This makes me nervous as well as the parents of my artists. Especially since my artists all share tables and are in close proximity. I want to be sure when my artists' parents send them to school, they can feel as safe as they can, knowing I am doing everything I can to keep their child safe.
With these desk shields, I can do my job as a teacher ensuring the learning and SAFETY of all of my students.
And try to put my artist and their parents' minds at ease.
