My Students

The students at my school are an energetic and hardworking group of children. They enjoy coming to school, and put forth the effort to do their best.

I teach students with special needs in an urban neighborhood where all the students at school are eligible for free breakfast and free lunch.

Our school has awesome students, as well as teachers and staff, who strive to make our school a welcoming and inviting place. In addition, our school is one of the top-performing schools in the city.

My Project

I am the Special Education Liaison at my school. I work with small groups of students to help them improve their Reading and Math skills. Last year, my students used a fun, engaging online Math program that helped them practice and maintain math skills. The subscription expired, and I am hoping that another subscription will be funded.

My students have made a great deal of progress with their Math skills, and I would like to add an online program for them to use again this school year to continue that progress.

Students responded positively to the different activities and enjoyed using the website. I will be able to customize specific assignments to meet the specific needs of each student on my caseload as well as monitor individual progress and track performance data. This will help me pinpoint areas of strengths and areas that needed continued instruction. The website is aligned to standards and is very engaging as it helps students build math comprehension and fluency. The program adapts to student performance, which allows for reinforcing skills as well as introducing more challenging skills as needed.
