My Project
The first step to educating children is to make sure that they are able to come to school safely. Our school is in desperate need of new safety cones for the back of the school cross walk. The current cones have had quite the year. They have been vandalized, run over, wrongly and aggressively played with, and have been beaten up by the cold weather.
Safety cones are not cheap and we have repurchased and tried our best to mend the ones we have.
At the beginning of the year the back cross walk started out with six safety cones, we are now down to three and they are mostly taped up with red duct tape to make them work.
Having new parking cones will help the cross walk to be more visible for the multitude of students who need to cross the street safely to get to school. They will also provide a boundary for parents parking in that area , and provide a visual reminder for cars to drive slow and that the area is still a pick up and drop off zone for many students and bus riders.
