This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a physical education teacher at a Title I middle school, I work with an incredible group of students who bring energy, curiosity, and heart to every class — even when resources are limited. Due to ongoing budget cuts, we’ve had to make tough choices about what equipment we can provide. Despite these challenges, my students show up every day ready to move, learn, and grow together through play.

I’m asking for your help to bring new life and opportunity into our PE program.

This project includes:

A Gaga Ball Pit, which will allow me to introduce a fast-paced, exciting game that promotes inclusion, fitness, and friendly competition. Many of my students have never played Gaga ball, and I know they’ll love it.

An Electric Ball Pump to keep our equipment in good shape without taking time away from class.

A variety of sports balls, with a focus on volleyballs, which my students are beginning to love just as much as soccer. Right now, we don’t have enough for a full class, which means many students have to sit out or wait their turn.

Our school community works hard to create joyful and equitable learning experiences, even when funding falls short. Physical education is one of the few places where students can build confidence, teamwork, and leadership through movement — but we need the right tools to make it happen.

With your support, I can provide my students with the equipment they need to stay active, explore new sports, and feel like they belong. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us bring fun, fitness, and fairness to every child in my classroom.
