My students need pencils and a safe, convenient place to keep them!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Tenney's classroom raised $382
This project is fully funded
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are hard working, and dedicated to their own personal growth.
They take pride in sharing a role in their success not only with their teacher, but with their classmates as well.
I pride myself in helping to create an environment where students are eager and willing to take a chance, to step outside of their comfort zone, and push themselves into greatness.
They like to move, they love problem solving and love lots of positive attention. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. Not only academically, but socially and emotionally.
As we say in our school...WORK HARD...GET SMART...NO EXCUSES.
My Project
I work in a low income neighborhood. Very often students struggle to gather classroom materials from home. As a teacher, I help to provide the essentials. A huge issue is the lack of pencils available to students.
Pencils are the backbone of every student's day.
It is often frustrating to student who needs to borrow a pencil, or sharpen their pencil. This causes them to loose instructional time and focus. These pencils will be shared among each child who walks through my door, eliminating the potential stress the lack of a pencil could cause.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
