My project needs 23 seat pockets for the classroom.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Perkins's classroom raised $287
This project is fully funded
I teach 4th grade in a Title 1 school. I teach all subjects throughout the day. We can have anywhere from about 18-23 students in a classroom. My dilemma that I am attempting to solve once again for the 2007-2008 is organization in the classroom.
My proposal is something that will help the students begin the school year organized and ready. My classroom has large, very nice tables where the students sit instead of individual desks. I love them and wouldn't trade them for anything. These tables allow my children to cooperatively work on certain assignments, easily. They also learn to work well with others at their table.
One of the only problems that I have each year is helping to keep the kids organized. Since there is no desk for them to put all their "stuff" inside I have been investing in "seat pockets". These allow them to keep their personal belongings, binders, and notebooks all together but separate from everyone else's. Without these seat pockets the children would be completely unorganized. Every child will benefit from the seat pockets because it is a place of their own to keep their school materials.
It is very important to teach them the importance of staying organized. This helps them become better students. The pockets that we have now have seen their better days and we desperately need some new ones. If you could help us turn this problem into a teachable moment we would greatly appreciate it!!!
