My Project
I believe that one way to improve the learning experience is to keep attendance up. The more days our kiddos miss, the more they stand to lose out on important lessons. With all of the bugs out there, it is hard to keep all of my students in attendance every day. With a little help, I can provide my students with a clean, sanitary classroom, as well as teach them a little about how to keep it that way.

Our custodial staff does an excellent job keeping our school clean, but it's also important for students to learn how to keep their area clean themselves. I have always had a classroom job titled "custodian", and those chosen take their jobs VERY SERIOUSLY. The problem is, I don't have access to all of the supplies I need to truly clean.
It is my hope that having Lysol wipes available, we can wipe down desks every day, rather than once weekly. We can also keep our library area clean by vacuuming weekly. A steam mop will allow us to clean up messes as soon as they happen, as well as sanitize the floors where we sometimes sit for lessons. Having wipes available for their sticky hands also helps keep the desks and doorknobs cleaner and less likely to harbor nasty germs.
